MSDOS

Maybe, maybe not. DOS is not officially supported by Windows XP because
it's such an old technology. From personal experience, it's all the luck of
the draw. I've gotten some DOS games and programs to work just fine, others
need a bit of tinkering, and others die horrible deaths. If you absolutely
need to run DOS programs, then you'd be best off building a dedicated
Windows 98 / DOS computer.

Many, perhaps even most, run just fine without doing anything special. Others will run if you run them in compatibility mode. A few won't run, because they require direct hardware access.

If you have specific DOS programs you want to know about, list them here. There may be somebody who has experience with them.
