Hello

I'd like to know how one can communicate with another using MSDOS, given
that I have the recipient's IP address. I am on a LAN network with the person
whom I wish to send messages - does this make any difference?

I'm not able to download any software for this purpose, though I would be
able to use an internet browser (if that's even possible).

I have not tried this but it looks pretty neat actually so I'm going to
download it and chat to myself... Yes... I have no life...

If:
# The recipient is on the same LAN (same subnet),
# You know their IP address,
# They have not set their firewall to block Messenger Service datagrams,
# They have not turned Messenger Service off in Windows,
Then you can send a message as "net send IPAddress message...", where you
substitute the IP address.
