Microsoft Access 2003 has stopped working for me. My
config is as follows:
1. Windows XP Pro with SP1a and all other current patches
applied.
2. Office Pro 2003 Enterprise (from MSDN Universal).
ADODB has stopped functioning in Access, AND when I try
to access Online Help, I get a message box (shows about
11 times) with the following:
Title: CiceroUIWndFrame: "msohelp.exe - Entry Point Not
Found"
Text: "The procedure entry poing GUIMS could not be
located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL."
I have tried to register the file c:\windows\system32
\msdart.dll using regsvr32, but it reports:
c:\windows\system32\msdart.dll was loaded, but the
DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. This file
can not be registered.
To me, this suggests corruption. I have replaced the file
with the original from c:\windows\servicepacks\i386, but
they are identical.
In Access, I am only able to select MS ActiveX DAO 2.7,
although I understand that a 2.72 version has been
released to address a versioning problem.
I am wondering if the installation of Office 2003 nuked
my DAO install because it overwrote my totally updated
system with slightly older versions that shipped with
2003.
Help, please.
My email is (e-mail address removed).
