MSCVRT.DLL problem

when i try and install some games and programs on this
computer, win2k service pack 4, i get this error:

"Error: MSVCRT.DLL is not compatible with Win32s."

this is rather frustrating me, any idea on help?

Update your programs. As far as I can remember, I think
it's a 'C' (programming language) run-time library, used
for 16-bit applications on e.g. Win95
