Whenever I try to run msconfig or regedit it starts and
shuts down immediately. I can only get them to run in
safe mode. I've scanned for viruses and I'm clean, so I'm
wondering what the problem is?
I'm the admin on this pc so there shouldn't be any issues
there...

I don't want to run in safe mode every time I need to do
this!! Helppppp!

hi kaitlin,

try searching for tht application, it should stay on this
path..

c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386 if you install service
pack.
or
c:\windows\pchealth\helpctr\binaries

and try executing it from there.. goodluck..

This worm disables NAV, Msconfig, Regedit and Task Manager:

And this one:

This behavior can also be caused by a virus. One of two:

If this is not the case, rename regedit.exe to regedit.com then:

To use the Regedits: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
