Kelly's supplied a small VB program that allowed the removal of unticked
items in Startup of MSConfig. (msconfigclean.vbs)
A friend has an older machine running Win 98 which has (at least) 20 old
programs that he has deleted but have not left the Startup file. They have
been unticked so do not load.
Have searched Kelly's for a Win 98 equivilant but have not found anything.
Can anyone advise if this XP version can be run on the Win 98 machine?
What could go wrong if I did run it?
Thanks in advance

Nothing serious. All seems to point that it will work or do nothing at all!
MSCONFIG hasn't changed much since 98.

But the registry keys used to record Startup items have changed, and
that is what Kelly's script works on.
