While using my PC, my grandchildren did something. I had
to reload my Windows Word 97. All documents in the
updated Windows 98 are in the ether. I can't bring up
Word at all now. Error message says can not find MS097.DLL
file.

1. How do I get this file and from where?
2. How do I update the original Word 97 to Word 98 so I
can access my documents again.

Please note that I am technically challenged, and
desperate.

Thank you so much for even reading this.

You would not have had Word 98 on a PC; it is a Mac version. Mso97.dll
appears to be on Disk 14 of the Word 97 installation floppies and in the
Office folder of the installation CD.

Have reinstalled my Word and Works program from
my "Microsoft home Essentials" CD. The needed file will
not come up and so I can't acces anything. When i did a
search of my Windows 97 CD and my Home Essentials CD
nothing by the Name MS097.dll came up.

PLEASE Help

Sorry. Finally found the file. How do I get Word to
respond and use it?

Thanks so much,
anna

That I don't know, but it could be that your failure to find it the first
time was that you were searching for MS097.dll instead of MSO97.dll (stands
for Microsoft Office). When you get the message that the file cannot be
found, do you have the opportunity to point Word to the appropriate
location? (Is there a Browse... button?)
