MS WXP Media Center Edition 2005

Tried to d/l last night and after 35 minutes got an
0x80004005 error code. Tried to redo and didn't like the looks of things and
canceled.

Went to this newsgroup and started reading about the various problems with
SP3.
 
Hi:

I have MCE (2005) on a Sony desktop and had no problems with the
installation upgrade of SP3 or any post installation problems. You might try
downloading the installation file from Microsoft
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...A8-5E76-401F-BE08-1E1555D4F3D4&displaylang=en
and installing from it.

Thanks for that information. The instructions say not to use that site. I'll
eventually contact MS and give it another try.
