MS Word XP has an odd glitch

After typing my phrase then hitting the Return on my keyboard twice, my font
changes from the default "Times New Roman" 12(Normal) to "Arial" 16(Heading
1). This came out of the blue and I have tried all I can to remedy the
issue. HELP!

Post your question where the Word experts hang out: In an
MS Word or MS Office newsgroup.
 
You may want to post to a Word group, or just rename the Normal.dot file
to normal.old, and then open Word to create a new one.

You should post your question in a newsgroup for MS Word. This one is
for the operating system.

You're going to have to tell us what application you're using, since
this obviously has to do with the app, not the operating system.
