MS Word Spelling/Thesaurus

I have a CD of MS office 97. It is an official issue but I do not use it
(Word) to write with, I use Works which is also an official CD. How can I
import Word's spelling/theasurus into Works. I know Works has a spell checker
but I also want the thesaurus utility.

You can't. The two programs are not compatible.

In addition to Bruce's reply there are separate newsgroups for Word and
Works. In this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx

Scroll down the left side to microsoft.public.word and
microsoft.public.works to see those newsgroups.
