I started with MS Word 97, I then upgraded to MS Office
2000 Premium and now I am unable to view my old word &
excel files properly, they are not displayed correctly.
When this happened, I re-installed MS Word 97 in
conjunction with MS Office and was able to use both
programs, since then I have had to do a system re-store
and once again I can't view my MS Word 97 files, I tried
to re-install the software but it's asking me
for "authentication code" which I can't find. Can
someone tell me how to fix this?

Use your Office 2000 CD to additionally install support for Word 97
files. The authentication code it's asking for is the Office 2000
Product Key which should be on the back of the CD case. If you lost
it, you're out of luck.

There is a compatability tab in Word under Tools / Options, you can use
it to make your Office 97 files display correctly.

Beyond that, if you had the product key at one time (presumably you had
it when you installed Office 97 the 1st two times), you will just need
to find where you got it from.
