What is the exact symptom (error message) which makes you conclude you
can't paste?

Are you really sure there is material (text/graphics) in the clipboard
when ou try to paste? Can you paste into another app, e.g. wordpad?

There are no settings to turn this on/off.

After trying this, if you still have the problem, do a repair reinstall of
Word. In the wake of Blaster, a lot of machines are suffering cut and paste
problems in Office programs, and the solution is a repair reinstall.

Answered in another newsgroup. Short version of answer is: Do a repair
reinstall of Word.

how do I do a repair or reinstall of word 2002? Should it
just download it from MS website or from the win CD?
use your Office CD. You can't download from MS and NO office
applications have ever been part of the operating System.

Uhmm.. This error message seems to be saying something about a "certain
file". That's not pasting. We we talking about Edit/Paste, or CTRL-V
command, or soemthing else.

others have mentioned re a repair intall of word 2002 ... could try
that too.

In Word » click Help » click Detect and Repair.

Put in your Office CD. Run Setup as if you're going to install it from
scratch. There will be an option appear to repair it.
