TRYING to install sound drivers on my Compaq sr1920nx, but tells me I need
the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture first. What is that? I have
Windows XP Pro w/SP2 and all updated. But for the life of me, I cannot get
this so-called driver. Any help please? thanks in advance.

Since you didn't tell us why you're trying to install sound drivers, I
can only suggest:

1. Only get drivers for your machine's hardware from Compaq. They should
have a drivers download at their tech support website. Make sure you
get drivers for your specific model machine.

2. If you can't find the drivers, then contact Compaq tech support.

Compaq makes - has always made - very proprietary machines. Drivers not
from Compaq will not work.

The only way you can get it is to call MS, per the instructions on the page.
