We have an employee with the last name of Blase. MS Outlook and Word
automatically corrects it by adding a mark over the "e" and we cannot get rid
of it. It's not supposed to be there. I've tried turning the option off but
it doesn't seem to work. Any help on how to correct this would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.

I've tried that and it doesn't work. The accent over the e is still there.
Any other suggestions?

What option did you turn off? It's usually autocorrect that does this-
tools, options, spelling, autocorrect.

Ah.. the light bulb finally clicked on. :) It's the dictionary - blasé is
the correct spelling. He either needs to hit undo (Ctrl+Z) and then add his
spelling to the dictionary or create an exclusion dictionary so it doesn't
correct this word. Or both.

Changing the spelling of his name is also an option. :)

See these articles for help creating the exclude list - the first link may
be all you need.

Light blub off again... Exclude dictionaries are good to know about, but
they don't change words, just underline them (or not). It's autocorrect
doing it.

You need to look in autocorrect again - its there:
