MS Outlook Address Book

MS Outlook 2002

My contacts folder has got many eMail addresses in it. However when I create
a new eMail and click on the To or CC button my address book appears empty.
Also when I click on the address book icon on the tool bar that is also
empty. How do I re-establish the links/rectify the problem?
