Because many corporations require the use of Read receipts internally, you
can not disable it for internal mail.

If your company doesn't have such a policy but an annoying co-worker
requests them constantly, turn off the mark as read in preview option (it's
in tools, options somewhere) copy the co-workers message to a pst to read if
you need to reply to it. Make several copies (use ctrl+c once, ctrl+p a few
times - outlook crashes if you do more that about 200 at once :)) and leave
them in the inbox, shift-delete them while they are marked unread. Then
reply to the one you moved to the pst. If you don't need to reply, just read
it in the preview pane and when the co-worker asks about it, you can assure
him you read it - you can even show him it's still in your inbox. You'll
have the co-worker trying to figure out what is going on. <lol>

I have this problem, i would wanna setup MS Outlook 2000 from Tools ->
Options -> Preferences -> E-Mail options -> Tracking options to not send
any kind of receipt ever. But when i`m trying to do this, i have no
option there because there is a red exclamation sign and after that it
says: "Only applies on Internet mail accounts". But what i have is setup
as a MS exchange server email account. Why the outlook 2000 doesn`t see
it like Internet mail account ?!

Thank you very much !

Thank you for your advice, do you have any ideea how i should change the
properties from the intranet mail to internet mail. Some of my
colleagues have the same mail account setup as internet mail.
