MS Outlook 2000 archive and import no longer work

I have archived several folders and successfully imported
them back. After archiving several more folders
(separately) the archiving and the importing features
suddenly quit working. I need some files back and cannot
retrieve them without saving them to the network and
retrieving them from another machine and e-mail account.
I have tried uninstalling Office and re-installing, but
that did nothing. The archiving looks like it's working,
but then if you go look for the .pst file, there isn't
one and the e-mails are still in their folder. When you
import, it screws up at the point where it asks which
folders to import. It doesn't give you the folders to
choose from.

Any help please?
 
Archive works on modified date, If you move or open a mail the modified date
is changed.
The Archive can be anyware you set the path to.
There is no need to import an archive, In OL you open it like any other
personal folder (pst)
 
I don't think I understand. I don't know how to just
open a .pst folder. Also, I need to import some folders
back into my mail because I have a Blackberry that I need
to access the mail with when out of town.
 
In OL, File/Open/Personal Folder.......browse to location of pst.
You can have multiple Personal Folders open, though this may impact on
performance.
Drag and drop mail/folders between pst's
