MS Mouse

I have an intellimouse optical. It has 4 buttons and a
wheel, which also turns into a button if u push down on
it so a total of 5 buttons.

I bought this mouse separatly from when i bought the
computer. When i got this mouse it came with a CD that
installed, i think, about 200 megs of mouse drivers ect..
I reformatted my computer and then realised i misplaced
the CD that came with my mouse. So, i went to MS site and
looked for the drivers. The drivers i find on MS site for
intellimouse are i think under 5 megs. I downloaded the
latest driver(5.0). That driver installed a cuple things
for my mouse but i have a lot less otions for costomising
my mouse (The main function i want is to make any button
on the mouse be a keystroke). Where can i dwonload the
full 200 meg software or at least the keystroke feature?

Simple answer? You can't.

Now iv been told by someone else that they have that CD
and it doesnt give them all the options i have. So i must
have download software to enable me to set any of the
buttons to a keystroke. Anyone know what i might find
more software to get these options back?

If your mouse doesn't require Intellipoint 5.0 support (i.e. for tilt wheel
support), then you can use Intellipoint 4.12 available at the link below.
From the sounds of it, your mouse doesn't have tilt wheel.

Despite the title of the page, Windows XP is a supported OS for this version
of Intellipoint.

MSFT knows about the missing functionality in Intellipoint 5.0. They are
working on putting that functionality back in a future release.

Version 5 is "flawed" and MS is supposed to be fixing it with a later
release (when: ????).

Actually, someone forgot--or didn't have time--to put them back in.
