Well, had to send and receive a few faxes so, in spite of my low opinion of
MS fax software, I installed it and successfully received and sent.

Just as I was thinking MS had done a pretty good job with fax this time I
checked the "Sent Items" folder. Well, instead of having my sent fax it had
one page of the fax I'd received. Not only that, the first page of the
received fax was missing. I searched the whole disk and it's gone, lucky I'd
printed it first.

It seems even my (mild) enthusiasm was misplaced. Anyone else have this
happen?

Anyway, didn't want to install Talkworks on a laptop just to fax but that's
what I did in the end. Just curious as to why MS fax does this weird ship.

Could you please provide more detail? How are you examining the faxes in
your Sent Items folder? In what application are they opening?
I can think of no scenario in which received faxes would appear in your Sent
Items Folder. Received faxes will remain in your Inbox unless you expressly
move them elsewhere.

I'm using the MS Fax console, looking at the directory tree with Incoming,
Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items. They are opening with the native Windows Picture
and Fax viewer.

I looked in the Recycle Bin and searched the HD for the missing items (tiff
files) and came up empty. Pretty strange, but it happened. I didn't move
them.

Well I've seen no similar reports and sure can't repro that behavior.

OK, thanks. just wanted to know if this was a known issue. I guess we'll
never know what happened. Very strange.

It really is strange. If you come up with any more clues or steps to repro,
please post them. You're certain that the Sent Items Folder contained a fax
that belonged in your Inbox? Did the Fax Console ever work correctly?
