Every time I try to open a MS-DOS application (such as
ipconfig) I see the DOS window, then it immedatly
terminates... please help me
 
ipconfig is NOT a DOS application - it is a command.
There are a couple of ways of running a command:

a) Start / Run / cmd {OK}
Now type your command (e.g. ipconfig), then press Enter

b) Start / Run / cmd /K ipconfig
