Hello all,
I've been told that Microsoft does not recommend sysprepping a machine
which has already been sysprepped once. Due to some strage imaging
requirements, I'm in a position where I have to do exactly this, yet I
can find no authoritative source for this information on MS site or
off. Does anyone have any information on this with a link to any
official information one way or another? Anything would be
appreciated.
Thanks,
Stan

I think the real problem is when you're using a version
of Windows that requires product activation. I do know
that you can't Sysprep one of those more than 3 times. I
believe you can call MS to have the activation reset in
that case though.

Hello Stan,
That is incorrect, You can run sysprep more than once on an image. It
will be supported.
As Charlie points out there is a limit to the number of times that you can
reset the activation grace period when running sysprep, but the given the
fact that this is set at three rather than one supports the fact that
sysprep can be run more than once. The limit of resetting Activation isn't
a limitation of sysprep, it's more a limitation of Product Activation.
Sysprep can still be run, on the system, you will just have to activate at
first logon. Of you could sysprep and not reset grace period each time.
Do you have a link to where it states that sysprep can only be run once?
If it's on the Microsoft site, then I want to see about getting it changed.
Thanks,
