MS Access Newsgroup support people

I can't help but notice that some of the MS staff posting in these groups
use a different variant of English than I use. Is MS transferring help desk
positions overseas? Or just assigning foreign language nationals here to
improve their command of colloquial American English? Or is that typical of
junior level IT staff in the USA?

Are you sure the people you are referring to are MS staff? These newsgroups
are per-to-peer, and the vast majoeity of replies come from users who have
absolutely nothing to do with MS, other than using their products - and, of
course, there's no rule that they have to be native English speakers!

Even if you are referring to those rare exceptions where the posters are
indeed MS staff (who distinctly sign their posts as such), what is your
problem? I don't know about you, but I would certainly prefer a good answer
in a foreigner's English to a bad one from a professor of English at Oxford.
I've seen many posters receiving a thank you note for a good answer, and no
complaints on the language, so I believe I'm not alone in this. At the end
of the day, IT skills and language skills are two different things.

I'm curious. I don't live in the States anymore, so I'm out of touch
both with popular culture and with the state of the IT business.
