MS Access 97 prompting for username/password upon startup...

For no particluar reason today, Access 97 is prompting for password to launch
the program. It auto-fills my LAN id and only requires a password. I tried my
LAN password as well as local admin credentials. I attempted to google the
solution to no avail. I have MS02K3 installed as well, but need Access 97 for
some older dbs. Anywho, it's been working fine for about a year and this
morning I am unable to launch Access 97. Any help would be greatly
appreciated!!

If it is prompting for username AND password then there actually is a
reason. It's because the Admin User's password for the workgroup information
file you are connected to is something other than blank. Delete the Admin
User's password and you won't be prompted any more.

It seems that soemone has given the Administrator a password in the default
workgroup information file (usually c:\windows\system32\system.mdw) or has
changed the workgroup file access uses on startup. Hopefully it's the
second. Use wrkgadm.exe to check and eventually reconfigure access to use
the file from above: %windir%\system32\system.mdw.
