MRU Most Recently Used File List Not Updating

Word not updating MRU even though option set to have 9
entries. Running Office XP under Win ME, both up to date.
Using Word as email editor in Outlook. Excel works fine!
 
I believe using Word as the Outlook email editor also affects the MRU list.

Ah yes. My feeling also. But why under WinME and not
WinXP? I have the same setup except under WinXP and no
problem.
