Ver. 1.4.2
Older versions saved the backup of Firefox profiles in my Download/Mozilla folder
(W98SE).

I also have a Mozilla folder in C:\Windows\Application Data. Firefox seems to use
both of these locations.

But 1.4.2 persists in saving Firefox and Thunderbird backup profiles in C: root.

I changed the Moz Backup ini file as shown below:
-----
[General]
; Here you can specify default path to store backups' files
DefaultPath=

[Mozilla]
; Here you can specify default path to store backups' files when you backup
Mozilla profiles
DefaultPath=

[Firefox]
; Here you can specify default path to store backups' files when you backup
Firefox profiles
DefaultPath=
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\m2w1qapy.default

[Thunderbird]
; Here you can specify default path to store backups' files when you backup
Thunderbird profiles
DefaultPath=
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\o47foi3z.default
-----

This change has no effect.

How to set it to save in Application Data as above?

In the past, the author did not answer so I'm asking here.

I set-up MozBackup from within it's GUI. In the "Profile Selection"
window, the user is instructed to "Then select the location of the backup
file", by browsing to the file you want to backup to. I have selected an
external HDD, and never had a problem with the program remembering the
location.

Thanks, but where do you see the "Profile Selection" window? I don't see that,
only a screen in the backup process to select the files to backup, not the location.

Open MozBackup 1.4.2 by clicking on a shortcut either on your desktop or
in the Start Menu. You are now at the "Welcome" window.

Click "Next"

You are now in the "Operation type" window. Select either "Backup a
profile" or "Restore a profile". Now select the user profile you want to
restore or backup from the list presented in the box (mozilla, firefox,
or thunderbird).

Click "Next"

You are now in the "Profile selection" window. Click on your choice in
the box labelled "Select the profile you want to backup" (most people
will probably have only "default" showing). Below this box you will see
"Then select the location of the backup file:". Below that sentence you
will see a box labelled "Select file", use the "Browse" button to select
where you want to save your backup.

Click "Next"

A "Question" window will popup and ask "Do you want to password-protect
the backup file?".

Select "Yes" or "No" to proceed.

You are now in the "Components selection" window. By default
"Bookmarks", "History", "Extensions", "Saved passwords", "Cookies", and
"Certificates" are already selected. You may deselect whatever you don't
need. You may also select "Cache" if you wish.

Click "Next"

Backup begins.

When the backup is complete you will be shown the "Report" window.
Everything you selected to backup should have the word "OK" after it if
it was successful.

Click "Finish"

As I stated before, I have had no problem with any of the backups or
with the program remembering the selection I made in the "Profile
selection" window for either Firefox or Thunderbird.
