Moving...Windows currently working with file

When shutting down my WinXP machine, I'm getting an alert
box \!/ with the title "Moving..." and the
message "Windows is currently working with a file. Either
wait for Windows to finish, or close it before you quit
Windows." <OK> is the only option other than the <X> to
close the window. Both close the Window. However, if I
again choose to shut down the computer, the same alert box
returns. This box never registers on the taskbar and I do
not see an application or a process that would identify it
in the task list. When leaving the office yesterday, I
simply closed my laptop, leaving Windows running. This
morning, Windows was still running. When I again choose
to shut down the computer, the same alert box displays.
I've searched the Microsoft KnowledgeBase but do not get a
match on any part of the message. I keep Windows updated
and patched regularly and faithfully. I'm concerned about
the title of the box ("Moving...") and it's not
registering on the taskbar. I'm afraid to "push the
button" to turn it off. Is this a security issue? Is
there a way to identify the process causing this (I have
no applications running)? What should be done?
