I want to move my website to another computer because I'm
running out of hard drive space. I copied the site on a
disc, and then copied it into My Documents on the new
computer. It looked fine, and I published a new story.

It uploaded to the server normally, and I got the Done
message. Problem is that the new story never appeared on
my site, after multiple tries, and I'm back to using my
old computer.

Any idea what I did wrong? I've heard it's possible to
download the entire site from the server to a new
computer that has frontpage installed. Anyone know how to
do this?

Thanks

You should always copy FrontPage Web sites by publishing
them, and not by file copying. So, either:

o Open the Web site on your old computer, then publish
it to a file-sharing or http:// location on the
new computer.

o Open your public Web site, then publish
it to a file-sharing or http:// location on the
new computer.

And if you're not sure how to open the actual web, just go to File / Open Web. Then isntead of
going to a palce on yoru hard drive, just enter your website as: http://www.whatever.com

This will let you open it LIVE on the server. (Do this from the "NEW" PC).

Then go to Publish and choose a folder on your My Documents (or wherever). You'll probably get the
pop up about "No web exists, shoudl ti create one" and say Yes and continue....
