My big main OUTLOOK.PST is stored in C:\Documents and Settings\sns1\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
My hard drive is getting full, and mainly because of outlook...I have a D
and E hard drive, can I move this PST to that and tell outlook it has moved?

I THINK I did it on my laptop and things went haywire
let me know
thanks!
Craig

Just move it, with OL closed. When you open OL and it complains, point it to
the pst at yr location.
BTW What version of OL, and size of pst?

it is outlook xp 2003
file is 350mb or so

Well thats not particularly large.
If C is short of space you have to remember when installing any new App, by
default its installed to the C drive. Its often better to do a custom
install, to another drive. Ensure the App path, in the install procedure, is
shown correctly.
You can also move the My Documents folder to another drive, as also the Page
File.
If the My Doc. folder is moved you may have to amend settings in your apps,
eg Office, to point to the new location.

No, Office (at least recent versions) should respect the My Documents path.
I also redirect this out of the default profile folder and would suggest
d:\data as an alternative. I also like to move PST files there -
d:\data\outlook\myname.pst so I know where everything is.

To the OP: might want to run Disk Cleanup (in your accessories folder in
your programs menu - system tools. )

If the My Doc. folder is moved you **may** have to amend settings in

No, if he moves the My Documents folder properly, all applications that look
for My Documents will look at the new location automatically. TweakUI is a
good way to do this.
