Hi, just bought a new computer adn need to figure out how
to move my Outlook datat files from the old computer to
the new one in the effortless manner. First of all I
need to know what the data files aer called, i.e. what
there extensions are and where they are located. Also
are there more than one data file is tthere just one big
one? Im am thinking I can find the one file and just
move it to the new computer and that will be that. is
that accurate thiniing. Alsom, there is the
export/import option..is that a better way to do this.
Help!!!

thanks for the websites Jocelyn , it might help me in my question; which
was - how do I backup Outlook 2002 emails ?
but if you know of a specific FAQ site on this i'd appreciate knowing

Did you carefully read the first page I included a link for? That should
have told you how to back up messages. Basically, all data (mail, contacts,
appointments, tasks, etc.) is stored in a .PST file, assuming you're not
connected to a central mail server where your mail might be stored in a
server mailbox. Also, Slipstick.com is just about the best Outlook
support/FAQ site you're ever going to see, so spend some time exploring
it -- you'll be glad you did.
