Is there a way to move individual messages or messages folders to a
flashdrive? I sell real estate and I'm trying to keep all of my files on
flashdrives incuding my clients messages. These are important records as they
are the means of correspondence between me and my clients should proof be
needed of this correspomdence.

I'm sure there's a simple way of moving this folder to but I just can't
figure it out.

I'd appreciate any help with this I can grt. Thanks.

You can copy a whole folder of mail messages by using the export
function: File, Export, Messages. Windows Mail often has trouble
saving directly to external media, so it is better to export to an empty
folder under your Documents, then copy from there to your flash drive.

I copy the important files to a flashdrive that I carry with me rather then
paper files. I have a document on the PC and a copy on the flash drive. I
just couldn't remember how to copy a message to my flash drive to keep with
that clients file on it.

Windows Mail has trouble accessing almost any kind of external drives.
It may be easier to first extract it to a directory you reserve for this,
but on your hard drive, then copy the contents of that directory to
your flash drive.

See www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx for what files are involved. You can just
copy the entire message store or individual folders to the flash drive. In
Vista, you can also customize an Explorer window (opened to the directory of
eml files on the flash drive) to show the columns (right click on the column
header field and choose More to add fields such as Author, Subject, Date) so
that you can see the various header fields of the individual messages.
