Ok, guru's...Guess I'm stupid here, but if I don't ask I won't know.
I can't drag my mail from my inbox to my folder. It says"can't move
items" What the heck am I donig wrong?
"... to my folder."
To what folder? To another "folder" inside your information store (i.e., to
another node in the tree shown in the Folders List view pane or to a
shortcut in the shortcut bar) within your .pst file? Or to a folder (aka
directory) on your hard drive?
Although sometimes referred to as folders when speaking about the
hierarchical structure used to organize items within your .pst file, there
are no folder (or directories) there. It's all just one file. That would
be like opening a .doc file in Word, highlighting some text, and then trying
to drag the highlighted text to a folder. If you want to export items from
Outlook, use the File -> Import and Export menu. Or open the item in its
own window (double-click it) and use the File -> Save As menu.
