i have a win98 machine that i want to move to a new machine that has xp
installed , but bare boned.

i have a lot of real estate information ,,,contacts ,email ,, real estate
programs for offers and such that i dont' want to lose the programs, settings
and doc's ,,, i see that with file and settings transfer i can network my
two machines together and move the files that way ,,, but before i do that
,,, do the files actually "move" to the xp machine and disappear off of the
win 98 machine??

what i'm getting at is that i'm afraid that something might screw up and i
lose everything from the win 98 machine.

any suggestions how i can do this??

Hi,

It copies the files and settings from one machine to the other, it doesn't
move them. In the end, you will have the same information on both machines.
It (fastwiz) works quite well actually. Details here:

Hi,

Networking them is the fastest way to get it done. There are other ways, but
they can take quite a bit of time.
