Kate M

We put together a new computer, and put Outlook on it.
I've connected to my Roadrunner account - but can't see
to get the file folders I had on the other PC to show
up. I've copied and pasted them to the correct
location. Am I missing something?
Thanks!!

btw - if it's the .pst file that I need to adjust - where
is that located?

dbx-files are from Outlook Express

pst-files are from Outlook

To locate your pst-file;

Make sure you include hidden and system files and folders when searching for
pst-file.

By default it is located in
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

You can also locate the file by using
Rightclick the root folder (probably Outlook Today)-> Properties-> button
Advanced-> field Filename

-Create an Office XP CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 3

Ok - gotcha. I use Outlook Express. So, is there a way
to move the .dbx files from one PC to another and have
Express recognize it?
Thanks!

Ask in an Outlook Express forum. This is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.

Here is the link for the right forum

Good Luck!

In addition to Roady's reply -

Copy your OE store folder to your new computer. I usually redirect My
Documents to another location - such as c:\data. Then you could use
c:\data\outlook express.

In the new computer, set up an OE account - then go to tools, options,
maintenance, store folder - browse to c:\data\outlook express or whatever
you chose.
