Moving back to Outlook Express

I've decided to give up on Vista and move back to XP. However, I'm not sure
how to save my Windows Mail notes in a way that I can restore them into
Outlook Express. Would appreciate some guidance. Thanks.

Sorry, as this is not an answer to your question -- hopefully somebody
else will soon chime in with an answer!

Just curious: I'm just about to switch to Vista, and so I was
wondering if you might tell a bit about why you're switching back to
XP?
 
Frustration really. I find it slow, and rather rigid. It also swings wildly
between treating me like an idiot, and assuming I have a masters in computer
science. My HP MFP has lost some of its function, including two sided
printing. It took me ages to be able to receive mail, and now it downloads
two copies of every mail. It also seems quite random about whether it leaves
a copy on the server.
To solve some of the mail problems I decided to do a system restore to two
weeks ago, but found I only have five days of restore points. No idea why.
I feel I'm battling it all the time, and I'm getting nothing by way of
improved functions.
So I'll go back to dear old XP, and wait for the first Vista Service Pack.
That is.....if I can figure out how to save my mail.
Of course I might be just unlucky or stupid.......

Hopefully that PC originally came with XP, because some of the newer
Vista computers don't have XP drivers available.

Not sure what you mean by "notes." If you mean email messages, you
can simply export them to a folder or flash drive:
File, Export, Messages, Microsoft Windows Mail. It will save them in
individual .eml files, which can be moved into an OE folder.

computer with Vista and have set up my email. My problem is that I made
extensive use of the old Outlook Notes feature. Does Windows Mail offer a
similar feature? I can't seem to find any information about it.

Is Outlook Notes part of Outlook, as opposed to Outlook Express?
If so, you may have to install Outlook, version 2003 or later, under
Vista to get it under Vista.

Windows Mail does not have a Notes feature.
