Is there a simple way to move all of my account settings for Outlook and
Outlook news reader to a new computer? I have yet to find a simple progam
or way to move all of the account settings. I have no problem linking the
new computer to a saved pst file and importing the messages it is the accont
settings. I have multiple user accounts set up with multiple e-mail
accounts (and they are both html accounts and pop3 accounts). The files and
transfer wizard does not move the account info correctly... any other (free
or cheap) ways to do this?

Wrong wizard. The Save My Settings Wizard that comes with Office is the tool designed to do this.

Sue,
Thanks but this tool does not seem to move the account information from the
outlook newsreader.
I think this tool should save all of the account information stored in the

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\internet Account Manager\Accounts\
section as well

However, this information is apparently not saved with the tool.
Can I just save this key as well? will this save everything for the
newsreader accounts or do I need something more to ensure that the account
information in the outlook newsreader is also saved?
thanks

Gary

Well, that's not surprising, considering that the "Outlook newsreader" is not part of Office, but is instead Outlook Express.

You can, however, use a customized .ini file to capture that information. Details are in the ORK at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011513701033.aspx

Now it gets complected again... I agree that outlook newsreader is really a
subset of outlook express BUT since OUTLOOK is using it as the news client
instead of using its own I belive that they should include the transfer
functions in the wizard to transfer ALL account settings. ...(end of
frustration)...

I took a look at the link you supplied and it is a bit hard to understand
exactly what I need to do. A friend believes that coping the regristry
files in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\internet Account Manager\Accounts\
will do it so that is what I will try.... Someone should create an easy way
to capture all of these settings so that we dont have problems when we
transfer to new machines.
