I am using Word 2007. I need to move the positon of my charts on the page.
When I went to Word Help it told me to Click the SmartArt graphic that you
want to move to select it.
Rest the pointer on the border of the SmartArt graphic (but not on the dots).
When the pointer changes to a , drag the border to move the SmartArt
graphic. Then it mentioned that I could select it and use the arrow keys.

Nothing has worked. The chart will not move. Can anyone help me? Thank you!

Each graphic -- including SmartArt -- has a "text wrapping" setting. What
you have now is the "in line with text" setting, which makes the graphic
behave like a character in a line of text, which can't be dragged except to
another position within text.

The Help assumes that you have any of the other setting values, such as
Square or Tight, which can be dragged to any position.

To change it, right-click the border of the SmartArt, click Text Wrapping,
and choose any of the settings except "In Line With Text". Then you'll be
able to reposition the graphic.

There is a setting in the Word Options > Advanced dialog to control the text
wrapping that's automatically given to any inserted or pasted graphic. For
the future, if you expect to want to reposition graphics more often than
not, you may want to change that to Square.
