Movies play dark in PPT

I have a selection of movies encoded with Windows Media 9. The main subject
is on a pure white background. However, when the movies are launched either
in Window Media Player or PPT, the entire movie plays darker, and the white
background becomes grey. What is necessary to keep the brightness and
contrast consistent with the original movie file?

If it's playing this way in WMP, there is nothing PPT can do about it. I'd
suggest reencoding it and change your settings for the encoding process.
