I am using PowerPoint 2002 and I am playing an MPEG 2. I
want to get rid of the play/pause icon in the upper right
corner of my movie. How can I get rid of it so my screen
is free from everything but hte movie? Thank you in
advance for your help.

Sounds like you used drag and drop to put the movie on the slide. Try using
Inser > Movie > From File.

I created my powerpoint and saved it as a powerpoint
presentation. Together with the mpeg 2 video which I
inserted through the insert movie command within the
presentation I saved it within the folder on the desktop
so I could burn it to CD and another user could use the
presentation without having to insert the movie again. I
found this works well and the powerpont presentation has
no problem finding the movie file. While it has once
again proven to work (the movie will play) it won't play
without this small play/pause icon above and to the right
of the movie. Having not used 2002 I am not familiar
with ever seeing this icon. Any ideas I have already
turned off show popup toolbar and show popup menu button
through the Tools>Options dialog box.

What is the source of your MPEG 2 video, i.e. where did it come from? It almost
sounds like it has a watermark in it.

I created it in Adobe Premiere. I don't believe it is a
watermark as it plays without the icon in 2003 and 2000.
It also functions as a stop and start button for the
movie within the presentations on this computer with
2002. I think it is a option that was selected by the
user he just can't figure out how it got there. He
thought he remembered that he was able to move it off the
screen so it wasn't visible but he can't remember how.
Once in the edit mode within powerpoint it is not
visible, it is only visible when it is in Powerepoint
slide show view
