My DVD with my TV does not recognise highmat CDs.

It does recognise VCD and SVCD - How do I burn into SVCD
from Movie Maker

Thanks

My DVD with my TV does not recognise highmat CDs.

Neither does anyone elses - HighMAT is effectively a "Windows only" format.

You don't. You save the MM2 movie in DV-AVI format, then convert it to MPEG
(try www.tmpgenc.net), then you burn that to the CD (your CD Burning s/w
should have a VCD or SVCD option).

Note that there are some new DVD players with the HighMAT logo, but these
players WILL NOT play the CDs created with WMM2. (The HighMAT support in
these players is limited to music and photos - WMA/MP3 and JPEG files; WMM2
creates HighMAT/video CDs containing WMV files).

I just bought a HiMat compatible DVD player from
panasonic. It also does not recognise the CD I created
using Movie Maker (windows XP).

Any suggestions?

Current "HighMAT compatible" machines will handle HighMAT audio only.
Welcome to the world of marketing.

Look closely at the HighMAT logo, underneath the main "HighMAT" part there
should be a box containing "AUDIO * IMAGE" note in particular that there is
NOT a similar box with "VIDEO". See http://www.highmat.com/faqs/ for images
and details.

The FAQ claims "The HighMAT logo program ensures that you can easily
understand the type of media that is playable..."; I find the use of the
word "easily" to be laughable.
