I have windows movie maker 2, which saves movies
as .wmv, i have created movies which I want to burn as
VCD's and use the roxio easy cd creator burning program.
This lets me burn VCD's but only if they are an .mpg
file. I then got Panasonic mpeg encoder - this
encodes .avi other mpg's etc... to .mpg for VCD but does not
convert .wmv

I then downloaded Windows Media Encoder 9
series, which I thought would encode them to .mpg, but it
seems that this converts all files to .wmv but not .wmv
to other file types. I am stuck.

I either need a burning program that burns .wmv to a vcd, or an encoder
to change .wmv to .mpg

Why cant windows movie maker just let you save in
different file types. would make life a lot easier.
Someone please get back to me
..

Hi Andy

MM2 lets you save your movie in DV-AVI format as well as .wmv. I always
save as DV-AVI because my source material is DV and ultimately my projects
will end up on DVD.

All you have to do is go to File -> Save Movie File...-> choose My
Computer -> enter a file name and location -> choose Other Settings and
select DV-AVI.

HTH
