Any DVD player software should be able to play directly from the .vob files. For conversion, this program will do it for free, but takes a lot of time and system resources to perform the task, DVD2SVCD from http://www.dvd2dvd.org/. Not very user friendly for a novice computer user, but with a little time and reading most can probably figure it out.
This is not a windows topic!
anyway windows media player could handle .vob if you install a mpeg2 codec
or install a 3rd party dvd player. http://www.dvdrhelp.com
