My recently purchased XP version starts with the error (in french):

"the language of this installation of windows differs from that which you
are trying to install - the upgrading will now stop."

Obvious that I bought a french version in France, but that the version of
the language interrupts the set up is hard to accept.

What to do? I want to upgrade, but the french version seems to have a little
problem with the english original of Me.

letmeno,
Harald

In order to have a French OS, you'll have to buy a French OS. There's no
way to use a French upgrade on an English (or any other language other
then French)installation.

The answer is staring you in the face - in plain French. Both qualifing
product and upgrade *MUST* be in the same language. You will have to
purchase the full version.

If ME is in English, do you want XP in English - or French?
