move xp from old computer to new?

I want to by a new laptop and throw the old one away and I have student teach
version of xp can I move it to new laptop and if so how?

Read the End User License Agreement for your Windows XP License. It
will tell you what the options are. I believe that for this
situation it would be the same as a retail license, meaning that all
you should have to do is to install it on the new computer and then
activate it normally over the Internet. If you have problems
activatiing over the Internet then do a telephone activation and just
say that you are reinstalling onto a replacement computer because the
old one died.

But check the End User License Agreement (file eula.txt in
\Windows\System32) first just to be certain.
