I have a 3-disc RAID 0 volume with two partitions, one of
which is the WinXP root volume (C
. I want to move my
windows installation intact to a different disk in the
system (non-RAID), and reconfigure the array for other
purposes.
I thought I could do this by creating an ASR floppy and
full backup on the a third disk in the system, and then
restore to the target disk. However, there doesn't seem
to be any way following the instructions after booting my
XP install CD to point to the desired disk drive -- ASR
just tries to install to the same device it was created
from (the Promise RAID controller).
How can I move my OS installation from one disk device to
another in the same system? Obviously, there is a lot of
configuration and installed apps that I don't want to
have to try and recreate.
Thanks!
