I thought I had lost all my data, so I installed a new disk drive and
reinstalled WINXP PRO on the new clean c drive.

On further examination it appears that the apparent fault on the old drive
was mis diagnosed. So I have reinstalled it as my D drive.

How can I transfer the old email data from D to Cdrive, I have run import
but that dose not solve the problem

Making certain that hidden files are visible, do a search for .pst files on
your D: drive. That file contains all of your mail, contacts, etc. When you
find it, copy it to the C: drive. Make sure that you don't overwrite a file
with the same name on the C: drive. Do not try to import the .pst file, just
open it in Outlook. Afterwards, if necessary, you can drag messages from
folder to folder.
