Move AD database to a new drive

Right now my NTDS folder with ntds.dit, temp.edb, and edb.chk files is
located on a different partition that the OS. I need to replace the drive
that this is on and relocate this to another partition. How do i move these
files.

I guess they do mean to run a backup after you move the database. Perhaps
it is so that if you just have the old backup (from before the move), and
for some reason you try to restore it, it will restore the database back to
the original location, and the old registry settings will be restore. If
you make a new backup, it will backup the database from the current
location, and restore it to the same location in the future.
