Hello,

We use Outlook XP. One of my users has moved from a WIN
2000 PC to a WIN98 PC. It appears his contacts and emails
were saved on the local C: drive of the WIN 2000 PC and
not on the Exchange Server like everyone else.

1. Is there a way I can move his contacts and emails
from the local C: drive of the WIN2000 PC to the
WIN98 PC?

2. Is there a way I can get his contacts and emails on
Exchange Server or will he always have to use the
C: drive?

Thanks for your help.

Millie

Can you still log this user on to the W2k computer and open his mail
profile? It might be easiest to do this from there. You can remove the PST
file from the services (make sure you know where it is) and import
everything from it into the mailbox using file | import/export..... Don't
set up a PST file in the mail profile on the new PC.

How do I remove the PST file from the services? I think
it is located under c:\documents and
settings\<username>\local settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder.

Thanks,
Millie

Yes. Copy the PST from the W2K machine to the W98 machine.

Yes. First, he can set Exchange as his default delivery location, then he
can open the PST moved i the above step and copy the contents of the PST's
various folders (Contacts, Inbox, Calendar, etc.) to the same folders on the
Exchange server.
