Have your mouse drivers up to date? Try also checking if port where the
mouse is connected is working correctly (USB or Serial ports), go to Control
Panel - Mouse - Properties - Hardware tab - Device Status

For your mouse problem try installing the latest driver's for the video
card and mouse.
hi all, got a pc on winxp sp1 that has some mouse issues.... ran an
anti-virus scan... nothing, scanned the exchange folders, nothing...the
mouse just does not behave sometimes....
initially, i used a wireless mouse, but the same happens for a wireless
mouse.

below is the hijackthis log file, pls help to see if there is some adware or
spyware in this pc.
<snip>

I am puzzled.... so puzzled that I am 'talking' blindly.... cos initially, I
thought its just the mouse, with some drivers issues etc...

then came the keyboard with the 'c' disabled.... as the keyboard was too far
for me to test this key, i pulled it nearer, hit the key and it works
again.... so now i am really really puzzled....cos initially when i
stretched out to hit this key, it does not work....the user is not showing a
happy face...

anyway, I am testing a new mouse for this pc... just hope that its not some
driver or port issues....

hi all, now the keyboard is giving some problems... the user can't seem to
press the 'c' key.... I tested it... but when I pulled the keyboard towards
me, the 'c' key functions again....

could all these be due to the ports? these 2 are using PS/2 ports... I
checked the device manager --> keyboard as well as mouse.... both showing
'this device is working properly'....
so what could it be?

Please tell me how to solve the following problem:

Most of the time the mouse pointer on the screen remains frozen after Windows XP loads, which forces me to reboot the computer on and on until the mouse can move its pointer on the screen.

I have changed mouse after mouse and the problem persists.
