Mouse Pointer Stuck

I am in excel and my mouse pointer is stuck selecting
cells. It is like I am holding the shift key down when I
move my mouse it selects everything. I can not even use
the alt f c function to close it will not let me do
anything but select cells.

How do you get out of this??? And what did I do to cause
it??
