Mouse pointer - red fist

Could anyone help, my mouse pointer changes to a red fist when I attmept to
click certain links on websites. I have never experienced this problem.
When I attempt to click certain links, the pointer turns into a red fist, and
I cannot access that link.

What's going on with this? Why? Why are certain links being blocked and how
do I avoid this?
